I’m delighted to be one of New Georges‘ 2016-17 “water residents,” developing a theatrical work-in-progress to be presented as part of the (super exciting!) upcoming Works on Water, a month-long multi-disciplinary art event, co-presented by 3LD Art & Technology Center in June 2017.
Works on Water will cross boundaries between theater, visual art, and science, presenting multiple perspectives on water in a global context. BLUE IS THE NEW GREEN.
My piece is a theatrical experience in the form of a gallery tour, exploring themes of water, ice, memory, nostalgia, imitation, and reflection. As this unconventional tour leads each audience member through the 3LD gallery, a fictional story slowly emerges, both inspired by and in contradiction to the visual artwork on display.
