Emerie Snyder is a director and actress. At age five, she announced that her hobby was “thinking about lots of things.” It’s still true. Emerie is the Founder/Artistic Director of New York City-based theatre company The Intentional Theatre Group. She directed The It Group’s productions of NeverCracked (Outstanding Production of a Special Event, MITF), which included Daniel MacIvor’s play Never Swim Alone and Gwydion Suilebhan’s Cracked (commissioned for this production); and Archipelago, an evening of short one-person plays, including both published pieces and newly commissioned works. Emerie also wrote and directed Walls, a short independent film on digital video (Official Selection, European Independent Film Festival). She has worked as an actress at a variety of theaters in both New York and Washington DC, including including Arena Stage and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company. Emerie is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and has studied at Atlantic Theater Company Acting School. Currently, she is collaborating with co-writer/performer Nick Lewis on a new work in progress titled Umbrella Houses.
